Our Legacy
Refining Fire Ministry was started by Kevin and Michelle Peterson (my parents) as a manifestation of the transformation that God was carrying out in their lives. It was under this ministry that we traveled across the country sharing the loving knowledge of Jesus Christ and leading people into a personal relationship with Him. In May of 2010, my dad felt led to begin “calling the church to her anointing and authority - to mobilize the Spirit of prayer.” My parents began teaching, equipping, and encouraging leadership to raise up houses of prayer across the nation.  At home we began developing Deluge Prayer Furnace: a worship and Intercession gathering. Believers who shared this vision, from a variety of churches and backgrounds, came together to seek the fathers heart. As awareness began to spread, the Prayer Mobilization Network (PMN) began to form. However, It wasn't until January of 2013 that PMN truly gained its definition. After suffering from flu-like symptoms for over two weeks, my dad decided to visit the doctor. During this appointment my family received news that would change our lives and ministry forever. A diagnoses of Colon Cancer was given to my dad who was immediately rushed to the hospital for an emergency operation to remove a six pound tumor.  Once this news was received, countless prayer teams from around the world began to intercede for the situation. In a six month span of time, a force of prayer warriors began to emerge and unite. My dad laid a foundation that would raise up many great ministries. As this step was finalized, he went to be with his Lord and Savior.

After my dad passed, my family went through a very difficult time of grieving and healing. We were all very lost, trying to pick up the pieces and wrap our minds around what had taken place. In this time, my mom, my brother, and I all became ordained ministers of the gospel and began to carry out ministry in different ways. My mom continued preaching under the name of RFM, but much of my dad’s vision had yet to be carried out - namely the 24/7 Prayer Center to be built in the Dallas/Forth Worth Metroplex (DFW).

This leads me to the exciting news:

Our Future
Fast forward five years: God reignites the furnace. During our season of rest, the full vision of RFM continued to call out in my heart. As a young boy, I learned to walk teetering between the pew of Brownsville First Assembly (home of the Pensacola Revival). The images and experiences of this revival etched themselves into my impressionable mind. I grew up watching my dad tirelessly pursue the Kingdom of God, and influence others to do the same. This inspiration stuck with me well after my dad’s death and served as a beacon in my life. After prayerful consideration, my mom and I decided that it was time for me to begin uncovering the wells that my dad once dug.

My mom and the RFM board have invited me to step into leadership of the ministry. My mom will now take a step back and support the ministry through prayer and intercession. I am now in the process of reorganizing the ministry and prayerfully strategizing for the future. I have recently received ministerial credentials through the Assemblies of God General Council, and I will be graduating with my Master of Divinity this fall. My wife, Ashley, and I have a passion for seeing God do incredible things in the life of His Church.

Moving Forward
I desire to finish the work that my dad started. I plan to do this in several strategic ways:
  • Fire Fuel My dad grew quite the following through his installments of a blog and newsletter that he called Fire Fuel. For many, this served as a dose of Spiritual Inspiration. I desire to start this up again and pick up where he left off. The content will come from myself, various other contributors, and several unpublished installments of my dad's that I have found. These installments will come directly to the inbox of those on the mailing list, and can be found by clicking here.

  • Deluge Fire Furnace This bi-weekly prayer meeting became truly inspirational for so many people in the DFW area. In fact, a large part of my decision to take up my dad’s mantle was the constant request to “rekindle the furnace.” I am beginning to draw up plans for how this will function, but you should see updates soon.

  • My Dad’s Book It was always my dad’s desire to write a book, but he never got around to it. There is plenty of content ready to be compelled, and this is my plan. My mom and I would love to take the time to collect my dad’s sermon’s and writing and deliver them as one cohesive message. We plan to do this in the not so distant future.

  • Prayer Mobilization Network One of the most influential things that my dad established was a network of prayer gatherings that spread across the world. Many of these prayer gatherings are still meeting, and I would love to build a network again. To join PMN, click here.

  • W.I.N.G.S 24/7 Prayer and Worship Center The capstone of my dad’s vision was to build a 24/7 prayer and worship center in the DFW area. I was with him when he had that vision and, unknowingly, led a See You at The Pole gathering in the exact location where he had believed it would be built. I have always felt a part of the vision, and now I understand why. Many have likened this to David and Solomon. It is my goal to complete this vision. • Refining Fire School of Ministry Moving forward, God has given me a vision of my own that I plan to carry out in due time. I have always had a passion for education, especially as it relates to ministry. RFSM will be a training program for prayer pastors, prophetic leaders. Being offered 100% online, this will be a convenient and affordable option for anyone who desires to learn more about ministering to God's church through spiritual gifts. Our plan is to partner with West Coast Bible College and Seminary, where our students can earn a fully accredited bachelors degree while completing concentration courses with RFSM. How can you help?

There are three ways that you can help:
  • Pray This is, and will always be, the best way that you can support us. As we pursue God’s calling, we will need provision and protection. Please consider joining the Prayer Mobilization Network and support RFM through your prayers.

  • Join our Newsletter Due to the inactivity on our MailChimp account over the past five years, our account was shut down, and we lost all of our contacts. If you were on our list at one point, then we need you to re-subscribe (if you are viewing this in your email, then you have already done this). If you have not subscribed to our list, please do so.

  • Monthly Financial Support For us to accomplish many of the things that we feel led to carry out, we will need financial support. We are asking you to prayerfully considering becoming a financial supporter for at least $5/month. This will help us to cover any overhead expenses that we face. You can sign up by clicking here.

Thank you for your prayers and support as we move into this new season!

God Bless,
