What is a Prayer and Intercession Furnace?
A furnace is a center point of providing comfort that affects those within its reach. Prayer is like a furnace. Keeping the flame hot and active generates God activity that affects regions, the nation, and nations. Deluge Prayer Furnace is made up of people from many congregations who are willing to spend time expanding capacity for more of God’s glory. These people are hungry to see revival that drives dead religion to the grave. They want to see spiritual climate increase so that souls are convicted and saved. They seek His heart for increased miracles, signs, and wonders. The prayer furnace is not a place for brining multiple prayer requests. The furnace is actually a time for acknowledging the worth and glory of God. Sometimes with music and at other times simply with voices we spend a significant amount of time bringing worship before the throne of God. Through the journey of the Prayer Furnace we have found that God has better prayer requests than us. In fact, He has been waiting for someone to ask Him what He wants instead of people always telling Him their desire. Worship extends a beautiful aroma of sweet fragrance before His throne. Pure worship is like refreshing words to His heart. Praying the heart of God is simple when listening through worship. This may sound mystical, but when we worship Him in Spirit and Truth we are engaging in the transcendence of heaven touching earth.
How it All Began.
In 2005 Kevin experienced a Holy Spirit download for an expansion of prayer. The Lord showed him a building that both represented a 24/7 Worship and Intercession Center and a structure for the body of Christ. Two specifics items stood out in the vision: 1. It was an 8 sided octagon shape structure. 2. It had glass all around. The glass was transparent revealing activity on the inside while allowing view for activity on the outside. The Lord said “for too long the church has not paid attention to those outside the church while the world has no connection to the life inside the church” Unsure what God was asking, Kevin and Michelle waited two years before starting an adventure that would change their life. July of 2007 the Peterson’s invited several people to their home for the purpose of seeking God. 10 people responded with a desire for prayer. No prayer request were sought or offered, but the evening took them into a journey of learning the art of worshiping the heart of God and then listening to what He has to say. Since that night those 10 people along with an increased number of others meet every other Monday in what has become Deluge Prayer Furnace.
