CONSULTATION
Prayer, at its most fundamental, is honest expression to self, to others, and, most importantly, to God. Unfortunately, unresolved feelings, wounds, and destructive behavioral patterns can keep us from this level of vulnerability. Our counseling service is designed to offer a safe, non-judgmental, atmosphere of Grace, where you can voice and work these obstacles. With trained counselors, working from a Biblical perspective, you can experience true freedom that leads to authentic worship.
Our counselors are pastors and other qualified individuals who are trained or are being trained in biblical counseling through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors.
Counseling is available to help with any problems you may be facing: marriage, parenting, addictions, disorders, fear, anger, grief, etc. Our counseling approach is based upon the truths of the Bible. Since God has fully provided answers to all of life’s problems in the Bible, it is superior to any other source of counsel. It is our goal, therefore, to skillfully and practically bring God’s answers to bear upon the difficulties you are facing.
We offer counseling services in three unique formats:
1. Pastoral Care & Counseling Professional: Our primary method of service is provided by pastors who have demonstrated an understanding of God's Word and the competencies of human behaviors and emotions by (1) earning a seminary or graduate level degree, (2) earning Ministerial Ordination from a reputable denomination, and (3) obtaining certification as a Biblical Counselor from the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors, or have been endorsed by the Committee on Professional Appointment for having proved themselves through a long tenure of pastoral service.
2. Peer-to-Peer Counseling: Whether you are experiencing difficulty in your life or relationships or just want to enrich your relationship with Christ, peer-to-peer is a ministry for you. A one-on-one lay counseling ministry that matches trained volunteer counselors with individuals for confidential, weekly counseling sessions. You will be led through a process of discovering why you are stuck in life by uncovering lies you believe about yourself, others, and God. You will develop an understanding of who you are in Christ. By understanding your identity in Christ, you will learn to live in freedom—freedom to experience the Christian life as God intended.
3. Support Groups: Support groups bring together people who are going through or have gone through similar experiences. A support group provides an opportunity for people to share personal experiences and feelings, coping strategies, or firsthand information about available resources. We offer groups led by Pastoral Professionals and some that are peer led, depending on the content of the group.
